Merle K. Lott Scholarship

Purpose

To provide scholarships for undergraduate students who are returning registered nurses enrolled in the RN to MS Program, graduate students who are in a primary care track in the College of Nursing or an RN pursuing a Masters of Public Health degree, and doctoral students engaged in research that contributes to the body of knowledge in public health nursing. The student must complete a current FAFSA before applying for this scholarship.

Scholarship Criteria

Eligibility for Merle Kennon Lott Scholarships and Awards is based on a combination of need and merit, including the following:

For Undergraduate (BS) Scholarships:

  • Students must be returning Registered Nurses enrolled in the RN-BS Program;
  • Have financial need documented by the student financial aid office; and
  • Plan to have a career in public or community health.

For Graduate (MS) Scholarships:

  • Students must be enrolled in a primary care track of the MS Program or be a Registered Nurse in the Master of Public Health program;
  • Have financial need documented by the student financial aid office; and
  • Plan to have a career in public or community health.

For Dissertation Awards:

  • Students must submit a copy of their dissertation proposal; and
  • Write a letter stating how the research will add to the body of knowledge in public or community health and primary care nursing.
