Clyde Jones, Jr. Memorial Scholarship in Jazz

Purpose

To provide an annual scholarship and a certificate of recognition to a student in the School of Music who is a Jazz Studies major enrolled as a junior or senior, or an incoming transfer student at the sophomore level or higher. This scholarship will be presented at the College of Arts and Sciences Honors Day Awards program.

Scholarship Criteria

This scholarship is open to all students who meet the following criteria. All students must demonstrate or have potential for exemplary achievement in his or her major area of concentration as evidenced by the following:

  • Shows exceptional talent as a Jazz Studies major, preferably as a saxophone performer;
  • Serves the School by performing in the Jazz Band; and
  • Has a 3.0 or higher GPA.
