The Bales-Haydon Scholarship for Musical Excellence

Purpose

To provide scholarship support to an outstanding student(s) majoring in Music with a concentration in Jazz or Piano.

Scholarship Criteria

The recipient(s) of the scholarship(s) must be either:

• An incoming freshman student(s) directly from high school
• Or a student(s) in good academic standing in the College of the Arts at Georgia State University with a college-level minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average at the time of the award.

Selections should be made from students with concentrations selected in the following order of preference:
1) Jazz Studies-Piano
2) Jazz Studies (Other Than Piano)
3) Classical Piano Performance
