Andrew J. Swope Equity and Justice Scholarship Fund

Purpose

To provide financial support to graduate student(s) in the Urban Studies Institute.

Scholarship Criteria

• Graduates students pursing a masters or doctoral degree in the Urban Studies Institute in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University.
• The scholarship disbursement will be $5,000 per year.
• Award can support one or two students as determined by the scholarship committee at the Urban Studies Institute.
• The award is renewable for consecutive years upon completion of scholarship application.
• Successful applicants should demonstrate commitment to equity and justice.
• Applicants should write an essay outlining their experience in and commitment to equity and justice .

All things being equal, students should have a demonstrated financial need as indicated by the Financial Aid Office.
