John C. Nelson Scholarship in Music Theory

Purpose

To provide scholarships for undergraduate students in the School of Music.

Scholarship Criteria

• Recipient must be a senior level student.
• Recipients must have an overall minimum 3.0 GPA
• Have completed a minimum of 12 hours of upper division theory course work
• Received a faculty recommendation as a top student in music theory.
• Preference will be given to students planning to pursue a graduate degree in music theory and should not be awarded to students focused in composition.
