Shamsalzoha Rouhani Memorial Scholarship

Purpose

This award honors our mother’s memory as her intention in life as a midwife was to serve the needy which she did for over 40 years in the desolate shores of the Persian Gulf. Also, it honors her memory as she financially struggled hard to pursue her life dream which was continuing education and providing for her family. She was the first in her family to receive a college degree.

Scholarship Qualifications

• Majoring in Nursing or Pre-Nursing.
• GPA must be greater than or equal to 3.0.
• Have a demonstrated financial need as determined by the office of Financial Aid.
• Submit a letter of recommendation from a Perimeter College Staff/Faculty member.
• Will provide a list of any extracurricular or community service time spent as a volunteer at a hospital, senior citizens group or extended family.
• Submit essay response (Maximum of 300 words):
  -How do you intend to serve the world of humanity with your profession.
  -How will “hope and love” guide your steps in the path to service?
