Atlanta Hawks Divine 9 Scholarship
Purpose
Provide financial assistance to full-time enrolled freshman, sophomore, junior or senior students pursing an undergraduate degree who are a member one of the nine Undergraduate (9) Black Greek Lettered Organizations (fraternities and sororities) located in the City of Atlanta, Clayton, Fayette or Fulton Counties, Georgia.
Scholarship Criteria
- Be enrolled full-time at GSU as a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior and a member of one of the Undergraduate chapters of the nine (9) historically Black Greek Lettered Organizations (fraternities and sororities) located in the City of Atlanta, Clayton, Fayette or Fulton Counties, Georgia during the 2023-2024 academic years.
- Fill out an application on the website gsu.academicworks.com and include the following:
-Extracurricular Activities
-Volunteer Involvement
-Answer a selection of the following essay questions:
1. Explain obstacles you have faced throughout high school and college including:
2. Describe the obstacles you face currently as you work to be successful in your classes and make it to graduation.
3. Describe the obstacles you faced in high school as you prepared yourself for college.
4. Tell how you have overcome the obstacles you have faced in the past.
5. Why did you choose GSU/Perimeter College? (up to 500 words)
6. Please write an essay (up to 500 words) on how a scholarship will help you achieve your educational and career goals.
7. How will attending GSU/Perimeter College benefit you and your future plans? (up to 500 words)
8. Please write an essay (up to 250 words) on what the Georgia State experience has meant to me and my family.
